Bio
Early Years
Originally from Huntington, Indiana I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. Post-graduation and an initial career as a Technical Sales Representative I later joined the Eckerd Corporation as Manager of a photo lab. Within a year I was promoted to Training Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia, and facilitated the opening of additional markets in North Carolina.

Engaging the Workforce
In 1995, I was selected for a Senior Management Development Specialist role at Eckerd's corporate headquarters located in Clearwater, Florida. Family commitments necessitated a return to Charlotte, North Carolina where I initially served as a District Human Resource Specialist and was later promoted to a Regional Training Supervisor for North Carolina. Upon the sale of the Eckerd Corporation, I worked briefly with South Piedmont Community College (SPCC) before joining the staff at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2005.

Excellence and Professionalism
With The University of North Carolina at Charlotte I served with a team of Learning and Organizational Development professionals. My primary role and contribution to the team was oversight of the university's supervisory training program: Leadership Enhancement and Development (LEAD). In addition, I consulted on, developed and facilitated a number of diverse talent training tracks and experiences as well as process improvement initiatives. In 2008 I was appointed by the Chancellor to the Advisory Committee to the Chancellor for Employee Health and Wellness. 2012 proved to be a pivotal year – recently nominated for the university's Employee of the Year Award and later pursuing work in my local community by returning to SPCC. In an effort to broaden the reach of talent development in Union and Anson Counties, at SPCC my primary responsibility was relationship building with manufactures, business and industry leaders in building talent solutions for learners, work teams, and organizations who are experiencing job growth, technology upgrades and productivity enhancement initiatives.
